If you switch lenses the ruler can be easily adjusted up or down to zero out the ruler at the new lens focal distance. Once it is adjusted for your lens it doesn't need to be moved. We suggest adding a mark just below, above, or to the side of the ruler once it's zeroed out so if you change lenses it will be easy to adjust when you switch between lenses.
